AGGRARIA currently manages more than 7,000 ha of irrigated olive orchards, making it one of the largest olive oil producers in the world. The majority of our olives are produced using the high density or super high density planting configurations.
The farms that AGGRARIA manages today are located near the Alqueva Dam in Portugal. When this dam began operations in 2002, it created the largest artificial lake in western Europe, fed from the waters of the Guadiana River.
The construction of the Alqueva Dam produced an agricultural revolution in the perimeter it serves. It produces electricity and has created an extensive irrigation perimeter in its adjoining areas, providing reliable water for irrigation in the region and increasing the resiliency of olive oil production.

We employ customized software for our farms that integrates information from various sources – our human resources platform, rigs, weather stations, machinery management platform, stock management software, external platforms (satellite images, drone information).
